CWSP’s Workshop with Dr. Elizabeth Wardle

Dear colleagues,

Registration is now open for the Campus Writing & Speaking Program’s Workshop with Dr. Elizabeth Wardle on Tuesday, April 24th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in Withers Hall – room 331.

Dr. Wardle is Howe Professor and Director of Roger and Joyce Howe Center for Writing Excellence at the University of Miami Ohio. Previously, she was Chair of the Department of Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and Director of Writing Programs at UCF and University of Dayton. These experiences fed her interest in how students learn and repurpose what they know in new settings.  With Linda Adler-Kassner, she is co-editor of Naming What We Know: Threshold Concepts of Writing Studies, winner of the WPA Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Discipline (2016).

CWSP is honored to host Dr. Wardle for the event, “Examining Conceptions of Writing and Their Role in Your Lives and Classrooms. ” In this interactive workshop, faculty and graduate students from across the university are invited to interrogate conceptions of writing as they are enacted in their own writing lives and experiences. They will then apply research- and experience-based conceptions of writing to their interactions with students, and consider ways to implement these conceptions of writing in their own classrooms.

To sign up for this event, please click here to fill out the registration form. If you have questions about registration, please contact Desiree Dighton (ddighto@ncsu.edu)

We hope to see you there!
