Call for Abstracts for CRDM Symposium 2018

Dear CRDM faculty and students,

The 2018 CRDM Research Symposium is taking place on March 26-27 at the Talley Student Center. This year’s symposium theme is Hybrid Play, and it’s been organized by Dr. Adriana de Souza e Silva and Dr. Nick Taylor, with the help of a wonderful group of graduate students.

We will welcome 5 top scholars in the field of games and play who work at the intersection of social sciences, media arts, humanities and critical making. The invited speakers will participate in a plenary session, mentor sessions with students, and panels.

At this point, we would like to invite CRDM students and faculty to submit 500-word abstracts for participating in the panel sessions. We have space for 4 presenters, who would be willing to present their research on this topic and be in conversation with the scholars. Each presenter will have 15 minutes to present their paper, + 30 minutes of Q&A.

500-word abstracts are due on Friday, February 2nd, by 5 p.m.

Please email your abstracts and/or questions directly to Dr. Adriana de Souza e Silva.

Here’s the symposium website, which contains explanation on the theme, presenters, and the schedule: https://crdmsymposium2018.wordpress.ncsu.edu/

We are looking forward to your participating in the symposium!
