UNCC Graduate Research Symposium – Call for Abstracts

On behalf of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte GPSG Graduate Research Symposium Committee, I wish to extend an invitation to all graduate students at your university to participate in the 18th Annual Graduate Student Research Symposium, an interdisciplinary graduate student-run conference, to be held in the Popp-Martin Student Union on Friday, April 6, 2018I hope by extending an invitation to the students of other University of NC schools we can highlight the important work of all graduate students statewide and enjoy a one-day opportunity to network and honor our achievements.

We are currently accepting abstract submissions for poster and oral presentations from graduate students in all graduate disciplines. Poster presentations are open to all master’s and doctoral level students. Oral presentations will be reserved for doctoral level students (master’s students with faculty recommendation). The deadline for abstract submission is February 16, 2018 at 12:00 pm.

To be considered for this conference, graduate students must submit an abstract detailing a project guided by a specific research question or purpose that will offer a significant contribution to their field. The abstract must be 300-500 words and describe the research’s main purpose and findings.  Authors should use clear, comprehensible language that is accessible and understandable to the general public, assuming that their audience has no familiarity with their topic.  Additionally, authors should explain how the research being presented is important or relevant beyond the scope of their discipline. For more information, please see the flyer and submission instructions attached or go to the Graduate Research Symposium Website (grs.uncc.edu).

We hope to build on the success of our Graduate Research Symposium and ask for your help in encouraging graduate program directors and faculty to promote the event among your graduate students. Additionally, we wish to extend an invitation for you to attend the event on April 6, 2018, scheduled for 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Should you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to contact me.

In advance, thank you for your support.

Best,

Jennifer
