CRDM Distinguished Alumni Award

Dear CRDM alumni, faculty, and students,
The Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media (CRDM) program welcomes nominations for the 2nd CRDM Distinguished Alumni Award. The nomination deadline this year is February 28, 2017.

Sponsored by the Communication, Rhetoric and Digital Media Program, the CRDM Distinguished Alumni Award is intended to celebrate program alumni who have distinguished themselves in scholarly research and professional life since graduation.

The program has already graduated over 40 students, who are working at top institutions across the country and internationally. Our first alumni graduated in 2009, so we have already 8 years of graduating students.

Every year, the CRDM program will offer one award in the amount of U$ 500 to an alumn who has demonstrated some or all of the qualities below:

– excellency in interdisciplinary work;
– distinguished scholarly research and/or professional achievement since graduation;
– sustained engagement in and ongoing commitments to the CRDM program;
– outstanding service (community, institution, discipline/professional field or organization);
– exemplary engagement within their discipline and/or professional field.

The awardee from last year was Dr. Jordan Frith: https://crdm.chass.ncsu.edu/alumni/awards.php
CRDM core, affiliated faculty, and students are invited to make nominations. To nominate an alum for the award, please submit the alumn’s name, contact information, a current CV, and a brief (no more than 2 pages) nomination letter explaining how the alumn meets the criteria outlined above and why he/she should be considered for the award.

Please email the nomination package to Jeffrey Leonard, CRDM Program Associate, at jtleonar@ncsu.edu by February 28, 2017.

The award will be announced at the 2017 CRDM symposium in March. The awardee will be invited to attend the symposium to receive the award in a public ceremony.
Recipients will be selected by the CRDM committee.
Questions should be directed to the CRDM Director, Dr. Adriana de Souza e Silva at aasilva@ncsu.edu.
