Desiree Dighton is features at the CHASS June 2016 Newsletter

Desiree Dighton (CRDM student) is just finishing a summer institute themed around “Space and Place in Africana / Black Studies.” She’ll return to NC State to do more research on her topic before presenting her findings next spring. 

Desiree’s research is on gentrification — and particularly how Twitter use might be influencing the conversation. Her research could shed light on measuring gentrification much more quickly than the more standard tool of the U.S. Census that operates on a 10-year cycle.
