CRDMSA Job Talk Series

CRDMSA is happy to announce our annual job talk series for those about to go on the market as well as for those interested in hearing more about the process. We will host (3) talks/workshops over the next few months, each dedicated to a specific area of the academic job application process.

Monday, March 19th, 2-4PM: Introduction to the Job Market

Drs. Stacey Pigg and Nicole Lee along with 4th year students Melissa Adams and Chen Chen will discuss their overall experience with the job market and offer some general advice on how to prepare.

Friday, April 20th, 1-2PM: Organizing Your Process

Fourth-year Sarah Evans will lead a hands-on workshop for organizing and targeting your search.

June, TBD: Developing Materials

During the month of June, 4th-years Meridith Reed and Geoff Luurs will lead a hands-on workshop in developing job application materials like the teaching portfolio, research statement, etc. I will send an email out with the date of this workshop as soon as we have this settled. For those who will be in town over the summer, please join us for getting a head start on your materials!

We welcome any and all CRDM students to these workshops and talks, not just rising 4th-years. Even if you aren’t going on the market in the next year, the perspective of these faculty and students will help you prepare for when you do start applying for positions.
